LEGACY MIGRATION & RE-ENGINEERING
LEGACY MIGRATION & RE-ENGINEERING
As new technologies, standards and applications emerge, old ones become obsolete. Jenesys has a sound understanding of the migration process and follows a structured and proven methodology to transform the legacy application quickly, cost-effectively without losing data quality and integrity.

At Jenesys, we work with our customers to determine the right architecture to re-engineer their legacy application to meet the next generation business needs resulting in significant cost and time-savings, and reducing the long-term risk of supporting the legacy environment.

Before making any changes to the program logic and structure, our architects first test the end result of the migration process for functional equivalence with the original legacy application. Jenesys provides its customers with a clear and well-defined roadmap, thereby ensuring migration methods are identified for all process elements.

The first step in the migration process is the analysis and assessment of the legacy system. In the initial stages of the migration process, core business logic is identified and mapped out to show the inter-relationships of the code performing the application's business function. As a next step, complete database analysis is carried out including tables, views indexes, procedures and triggers, and data profiling. And finally, program-affinity analysis is performed to produce addition of new functionality.
